lunch, Lea Salonga, Cinderella & growing gardens

had lunch with C today. it was, as usual just really neat to catch up and stuff. finding a place to eat was hard, so we ended up at Subway, Centrepoint. the banter was light and fun, and i left feeling full – from the food, the starbucks and the conversations. :D

went to watch ‘Cinderella‘ tonight at the esplanade. i’ll be honest, that the only reason i was interested in this production was because it starred Lea Salonga. it’s quite amazing that she is 40 years old, yet she was perfectly believable as the poor servant step-sister turned beauty-at-the-ball lady. her voice is still remarkable.

and yes, she waved at me at the end! :D (haha!)

what was really cool was realising that A, and E, and Z were sitting on the same row (just two seats away) from M and I.

the costumes were amazing. as was the lighting design i thought.

but i felt the production needed to be re-invented for the 21st century, not just re-made.

i was reminded again today (while sharing with N about the OT) of the goodness of God toward us. that there may be time when we don’t fully get what He is up to – but His impulse toward us is good. i was reminded that God places us in good gardens – that we may tend and keep them.

what are my gardens? (in no particular order)

1. the leadership role i have at church.

2. the close circle of friends

3. my family

4. gifts?

(i don’t think i’ve been developing my gifts sufficiently – i use them much, but i’m not sure if i’m spending enough time in training…. )
