programming meetings

i’m quite sure lots of people have no idea how much goes into a weekend service, or a special service program. programming meetings which happen months in advance pulls a small group of people who willingly come together to look at different ways to keep the message and the service fresh. nothing is beyond the reach of this team – from sticking tiny hearts underneath chairs, to blowing balloons, to writing skits to acting and filming and rehearsing – we will do what it takes to bring the message of Christ in a relevant and fresh way.

on monday, we were programming our second Combined Service for the year, held at the Holiday Inn, singapore. i can’t wait. the theme for the service is One Church, Many Generations

ah, but there’s much to do to get there!

(on a side note, after last nights worship concert debrief, we learnt some valuable lessons on the organisational side of putting an event together! it’s getting clearer and clearer for us (well, for me at least!) )

long nails

mervin normally bites his nails. so recently he put a reminder on his computer – “stop biting your nails” or something like that (for those who know – it’s opposite “your mother”). that reminder worked! and this is his nails the longest it has EVER been in his life! hooooo! well done! it was a ceremonious moment when he cut them with a nail cutter soon after!

that’s debbie and rachel from FGA KL. this was debbie’s first overseas trip!! hooo! and we got to take a double decker bus to lunch @ popeye’s at the Singapore Flyer!

mervin and tong, were attempting to be tour guides. i was just hoping we wouldn’t get lost. (it was a hot day!)

under the bridge. we had to walk a little to the Flyer.

lunch was great – about more than 30 of us at Popeye’s. i heard the story of rachel chan who while sleeping wrapped my present! wow! she apparently is a legend in KL for doing things in her sleep. most people might talk, grind their teeth, make strange noises or even sleep walk… but rachel, she can sew in her sleep, eat in her sleep and as it was in singapore, neatly wrap a present in her sleep.

have a look at her handywork! (it even has a folded pattern to it!!)

after lunch (with what must have seemed an eternity) we got everyone out, to take photos! that was fun!

it has been awesome to have this team come down to be with us for the worship concert! and i think i really have enjoyed how friendships have been forged over the years!

this weekend, we take a smaller team up to KL! am looking forward to out time together again! :D
