About Me

Rhordan’s loves are broad and varied. He loves music and will listen to everything from Beethoven and Bach to REM and Herbie Hancock. A national hockey player in his youth, Rhordan still loves a good game of sport, and will try anything just for the experience of it. He loves to read and is known to devour through 4 or 5 books at a time. He’s an avid movie and theatre goer and even had a life – defining moment watching Walt Disney’s “The Lion King”. He still can’t quite spell ‘diarrhea’, doesn’t do well when it comes to numbers, and has trouble keeping his table neat. But Rhordan continues to strive to become a better version of himself and seeks to live a great life.

Rhordan earned a bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and English Literature at the National University of Singapore. And later went on to the National Institute of Education to do a post-graduate diploma in education in which he graduated as class valedictorian. A PSC scholar, Rhordan went on to teach and in 2002, he was awarded the Outstanding Youth in Education Award by the Ministry of Education. After serving as a teacher, Rhordan felt called to lead and develop people through his work at church, where he’s been for the last four years, as pastor, teacher, counselor, friend and often-time chauffer even. He also has functioned as an associate consultant, helping people and companies in the areas of Human Resource and Training.

Rhordan has discovered the joy of living a purpose-filled life – being both deeply fulfilled and fruitful in what he does.

    Hi Mr Wicks,

It’s higly likely that you may not remember me, but I was one of your lit students back at loyang secondary. I happen to chance upon this blog. and in finding the About me section rather familiar, decided to leave this message.

Pardon the usual boring hellos! I was really shocked to hear that you quit teaching, but it sure is nice seeing you in action again, doing what you do best. :)

      hi there.
it’s not the original one. i was trying to look for it but couldn’t find it, coz i had read about it’s description some years ago. i was giving a talk and thought that the picture would fit perfect with the talk, and coz i couldn’t find it, i described it to one of our talented artists in church, and she did this painting! :D
i would, however, love to see the original. (although i really like what my friend has done too!:D)
