hey jude – a flowchart

irony (or FAIL!)

i don’t normally take the MRT, but the other day, i took the NE line from Dhoby Ghaut and had about 2 min to stand before my driverless train would reach. so in those two mins, with my iPod on, i looked around. my eyes soon found this:

at first glance, it doesn’t seem anything more than singapore’s favourite tv character Phua Choo Kang teaching singaporeans how to use the trains in a civil manner.

but if you were to look closer, you would find the irony of what was going on:

the ad on the sides of the doors were about speaking good english, and yet right smack in the center of that was PCK going, “don’t play, play” !!!

i didn’t know if i should laugh or shake my head.

and so the debate on singapore english must continue on.

perspective – airforce ad

it’s just a card that looks like a strange airplane. until you flip it up.

and their tag, “discover a higher purpose with the right perspective“. pretty cool, huh! well done singapore airforce!

that knocking at the door

you think it’s gone,

but suddenly it appears again

to remind you

to accuse you

to tell you lies you want to believe

you thought it was over

it was buried

pulled out of a cave

and hung

but there it is

again

staring you down

or resist

but part of you embraces it

part of you repeats it’s mantra

after all, perhaps it is true

why did it come out again

maybe it’s that trigger again

if only those words, that action, that absence was not there

so why did it come out again

to knock at your door?

to call out to you again?

why did it come out?

because it is there

still

now what do i do?

victory lunch

it started with a desire

that translated itself into a goal

that then required time and effort and energy and coaching.

but on the 19th of August, we sat down together to celebrate his victory.

what am i talking about?

he got silver for his nafa!
